Colorado may be most well-known for its vacation industry during the winter, but it has many more attractions to see and do during other times of the year. Since Colorado is home to a large expanse of the Rocky Mountains, it is an outdoorsman’s Mecca all year round. Popular recreational activities in Colorado include mountain climbing, mountain biking, river rafting, hiking, camping, hunting, fishing and, of course, skiing and snowboarding.

 

Traveling through Colorado is an experience in and of itself. The beauty of the Rocky Mountains is surreal when driving through its winding roads. The spectacular views of distant, snow colored mountain peaks take the breath of visitors away, as they are taken aback by the beauty of Colorado’s mountain range.

Colorado’s lakes are as breathtaking as its mountains and Bear Lake is no exception. Visitors consider this natural lake as a "must see" on their itineraries when traveling through Colorado.

Photographic opportunities abound in Colorado, so insure you have a good supply of digital memory cards and batteries (or film if you’re that way inclined) - I have come across many a spectacular photo opportunity only to find my memory card is full or my battery has died. That’s the last thing you want happening!

But it isn't all mountain life in Colorado. While traveling in Colorado, you must visit the cities as well. Denver and Boulder, Colorado both boast some of the happiest residents in the United States according to multiple polls. Colorado takes pride in offering its residents a high quality of life - a quality of life that most visitors becoming envious of after traveling in Colorado.
